Suppressor pistons and boosters are essential components for ensuring reliable operation when using a suppressor on a semi-automatic pistol, particularly those with a tilting-barrel design. When a suppressor is attached, the added weight can interfere with the natural cycling of the slide. A booster, also known as a Nielsen device, counteracts this by temporarily decoupling the suppressor from the barrel during recoil, allowing the pistol to cycle normally. Pistons are interchangeable parts within the booster that match the specific thread pitch of your firearm’s barrel. Together, these components ensure both proper alignment and dependable function while shooting suppressed.
